- Be active - make physical movement part of your day
- Eat well - increase fruits and vegetable, decrease sodium and sugar
- Practice Prevention - remove tripping hazards, get your vision, dental & health screenings
- Understand your health status - manage your medications, ask questions of your doctor
- Get enough sleep - have a bedtime routine and get 7 - 9 hours of sleep each night
- Cultivate relationships - stay socially engaged, use technology like Skype or Facetime
- Engage your brain - reading, writing, and arithmetic !!
- Reduce stress - understand your stress triggers and seek ways to minimize
- Use your time productively - make time for things that bring you joy
- Embrace aging - we can't stop it, so tune into your thoughts & feelings; do what you can and don't let your limitations define you
