10 Tips for Aging Well

Healthy aging engages mind, body and soul.  Try these 10 tips no mater how young or old ! Start slow and implement one or two then increase to all 10.   If you need help or want some companionship implementing a tip or two reach out and we would be happy to discuss our program with you.

  1. Be active - make physical movement part of your day
  2. Eat well - increase fruits and vegetable, decrease sodium and sugar
  3. Practice Prevention - remove tripping hazards, get your vision, dental & health screenings
  4. Understand your health status - manage your medications, ask questions of your doctor
  5. Get enough sleep - have a bedtime routine and get 7 - 9 hours of sleep each night
  6. Cultivate relationships - stay socially engaged, use technology like Skype or Facetime
  7. Engage your brain - reading, writing, and arithmetic !!
  8. Reduce stress - understand your stress triggers and seek ways to minimize
  9. Use your time productively - make time for things that bring you joy
  10. Embrace aging - we can't stop it, so tune into your thoughts & feelings; do what you can and don't let your limitations define you
